Essential Notice
Upon your arrival at Minang Kabau International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Kerinci within about 7-8 hours of driving. Usually, before starting the long way to Kerinci, our driver will ask you to enjoy Minang cuisine in the city of Padang.
After dinner, you will meet with our leader and crew to explain the details of the hike and all the important things.
Note :
After breakfast, we’ll head to TrailHead using a local vehicle for 30 minutes.
arrive at the Trailhead (1800m) the climb to campsite shelter 3 begins. along the way you will pass through the tropical rainforest with 3 stopping points post 1 to post 3 there many beautiful birds if you are lucky you will see several types of mammals such as Siamang Gibbon and Surili Sumatra then Shelter 1 (2550m) where lunch.
After enjoying lunch heading to Shelter 2 (3100m) through the sub-montane forest and then campsite Shelter 3 (3349m).
Upon arrival at the campsite, you will be welcomed with hot tea, beautiful scenery, and a sunset. Before the rest our crew will present a fully cooked warm dinner at the campsite will keep your energy high.
After a hot tea or coffee, we start well before sunrise to start the final but climb up the very steep. As it gets light, a spectacular view of Kerinci gets slowly into sight. Finally, we will stand on the highest volcano in Southeast Asia “Mount Kerinci (3805 masl) with an incredible view over West Sumatra and Jambi, with many other volcanic peaks, mountain ranges, and lakes around and below us not only that, the active crater of Mount Kerinci, 300 meters deep, is also in front of us.
After some time spent on or around the summit, we are heading to the campsite, take brunch, and then descend to the trailhead and hotel.
after breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the Lake Gunung Tujuh Trailhead using a local vehicle for 40 minutes. upon arrival at the trailhead, we start the hike of approximately 2.5 hours to the lake.
Upon arrival at the lake, we will ask you to have lunch first by the side of the lake. after that, you can enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Gunung Tujuh if you like swimming this is the best place for you.
After enjoying the beauty of Lake Gunung Tujuh we will take you to get descend and return to the hotel to get ready for drop-off to Padang or airport departure at 9.00 pm.

For our 10 year anniversary, me and my husband returned to Indonesia, and we had decided we wanted to climb Gunung Kerinci.
After careful research, our choice fell upon Kerinci Paradise, and we do not regret choosing them.
We chose to do a Premium Tour of Gunung Kerinci and Lake Tujuh.
From first contact, Jet and his team set a very high standard, which they kept throughout our entire tour.
They made sure we had a comfortable transport from the airport to the village on the slopes of Kerinci.
We loved our stay at Swarga Lodge and Guesthouse, which is one of their many alternatives on their website. The views from your bungalow pattio towards Gunung Kerinci are fantastic.
We had an excellent guide, Ricky, on Gunung Kerinci. He spoke English well, and made sure we had safe and nice trek up through the jungle and all the way to the top of the mountain. Weatherwise, we were lucky with no rain during the ascent/descent. We just had a few showers during the night, when sleeping in the tent. A little bit unlucky though going up, as the clouds settled on the top, preventing us from enjoying the beautiful sunrise and views from the top, but going down, we had amazing views from about 3600 masl. We saw the fields, the villages, Tujuh Lake and other mountains in the horizon.
But people should keep in mind that the rain turns the trial really muddy, so recommend good boots and trekking poles for support.
The entire team on our trek did and amazing job for us to enjoy the mountain. Preparing and packing down camp, food and taking nice photos and videos clips for us to remember the trip.
The day after returning from the mountain, we went for a day hike to Tujuh Lake. We started in beautiful and sunny weather and ended up in a bit of a tropical rain shower. But still, it was a very nice trip. We got to see gibbons and also another endemic species of Sumatra. Today’s guide was Jet himself, sharing his knowledge about plants, nature and animals during our trek. We were lucky when we arrived at the lake, as the weather cleared and we got to enjoy a lovely lunch at the lakeside.
Normally the trip ends after having dinner back at the hotel, with transport back to the airport/Padang, but we had Jet arrange for us to have one last night at Swarga before traveling to Padang the following morning.
If you have the opportunity, do this, as it makes everything less stressful and much more comfortable.

Also one of few companies that have certified mountain guides, which we really recommend you to have when climbing a mountain.

Family resort in Kerinci has the best view, Abdi homestay in lembah harau has the nice earthy-natural room theme with awesome waterfalls view. Porter team during hiking were excellent and supportive. The best and memorable experience is with the guide, Bang Jetz. He really helped me throughout hiking for my special needs. He really went beyond expectations taking care of my needs of physical assitance while still maintaining the needs for the whole group. The best guide ever, thank you so very much Bang Jetz!
