Most travelers in Asia take direct flights from Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia and Singapore. About 20 hours from America to Kerinci but transit in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) or Singapore, and also the other travellers from Europe. If you are from Australia you must transit to Soekarno – Hatta International Airport in Jakarta or Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali and then the last transit to Minang Kabau International Airport – Padang.
Most travelers choose Minang International Airport as the last flight because that is the easiest access to Kerinci. It takes about 7 – 8 hours to Kerinci by minibus/van (public transportation). Operational public transportation only 2 times every day at 9 am and 7 pm but the morning is highly recommended, you have to spend IDR 220.000/seat one way to Kerinci.

It takes an hour to Sungai Penuh (City Town) by Car or motorcycle (Ojek, public transport). There are many hotels in Sungai Penuh. If you want to trek to Mount Kerinci you must go to Kersik Tuo Village (Kayu Aro district), which takes about 2 hours from Sungai Penuh.
Most travelers who visit to kerinci with overland trips. especially travelers from Europe, America, Australia etc. They usually visit Kerinci after they are in Medan (Bukit Lawang, Lake Toba), they go to Bukit Tinggi (West Sumatera) and then they go to kerinci by mini bus/van (Public transport) it takes at least 10 hours in the way.
