The Origin

The story of Kerinci Paradise began on the slopes of Mount Kerinci long before 2015. Born and raised in the Kerinci valley, founder Jetz Herwanto (known on the trail as Jetz Hikers) spent years working across every role on the volcano, starting as a mountain porter before guiding hundreds of ascents to the 3,805 meter peak.

Across more than 300 summit ascents, a clear need emerged. Hikers from around the world were arriving to scale the highest volcano in Southeast Asia, yet the available support on the mountain lacked structure, consistency, and precision. Instead of focusing on the achievement ahead, participants were losing energy to avoidable friction on the trail.

In 2015, Jetz established PT Kerinci Paradise Adventure to create a new atmosphere in Kerinci. The goal was to rewrite how the 3,805 meter summit is approached by building an organized, reliable system rooted in genuine local expertise.

Today, with more than 440 completed trips, Kerinci Paradise operates as a registered private adventure operator where every stage from arrival in Padang to the morning summit window at 3,805 meters moves with quiet precision.
